«Umm Sa'ad», 1969 novel by Palestinian author and activist, Ghassan Kanafani (1936-1972), born in 1936 in Acre, Palestine, assassinated in 1972 by Mossad in Beirut. The novel is a portrait of a mother who encourages her son to take up arms as a resistant fighter, even though she is aware it might lead to his death.
