A work describing the differentiation of character, by Izz al-Din Ibn Abd al-Salam (577/1181-660/1261). Izz al-Din, born in Damascus, was a Muslim scholar and judge who excelled in jurisprudence, language, and interpretation. He was judge and teacher in Egypt where he lived until his death.
