More Information

As a rule, the churches chosen date from the period before the Crusades, built on the sites of pagan temples, using their remains. The characteristic feature of these churches, which are usually small and have only one nave, is that the walls and sometimes the vaults of the apses are marked with bifurcated or trifurcated crosses and in many places there are other symbolic signs.
